For a freshman, the significance of his first day in university can’t be denied in any case. Honestly, it’s the first few days that’ll leave an everlasting impact on the consciousness and the memories that’ll be imprinted on the sub consciousness.
To welcome the freshmen to SEECS, SGA collaborated with societies that operate within SEECS and NUST to organize Week of Welcome.
Week of Welcome is a series of distinct events and membership drives where the freshmen get to socialize get to play indoor fun games, get to know about SEECS traditions and of course, get to join different societies.
ACM & ACM-W, NUST Chapter were allotted Thursday to get started with their General Membership Drive and to introduce their cause, motives and team to the freshmen.
Association for Computing Machinery, NUST Chapter and their Women Wing collaborated to plan a few games for the freshmen and offered numerous prizes to the participants and the winners.
It all was set into motion after the ACM and ACM-W teams pitched the ideas about games and then undergoing through selection process and then assigning desk duties for the smooth conduction of games and activities. The theme selected for ACM Day was Blue and White. The activities started earlier that day as the Décor Team started decorating Lobby for ACM Day. Later, around 12:00 the desks were setup and the preparations were given a final touch.
Many games like Pop the Balloon, Charades, Style and Craft, Cookie Mania and many others of the sort were arranged. The participants were offered free pizza, that was a treat to all the foodies and the winners were given vouchers from Tuscany Courtyard and Café Frankenstein.
ACM Day treats were sponsored by Tuscany Courtyard, Café Frankenstein and Codistan.
All in all, ACM and ACM-W got an overwhelming response in Week of Welcome. All students including freshmen showed an overwhelming response to ACM-W’s event and were enthusiastically looking forward to ACM-W’s general membership drive.
